Go the the NY DOS Public License Search, a free online search tool where you can verify a license status by name, license type, license number, city or county. To search for a business name, click on Search by Name, then search for an individual or business license.
This tool provides real-time information on whether your license is active, inactive, or expired. If your expiration date is approaching, now is the time to take action.
Planning Ahead for Renewal
Don’t wait until the last minute to renew your license. The renewal process requires you to complete the necessary continuing education (CE) requirements and submit your renewal application to New York DOS through the eAccessNY portal.
It’s best to set reminders for yourself well in advance. Many real estate professionals schedule a renewal review at least three to six months before their expiration date to ensure they have enough time to complete the required CE courses and submit their application without stress.
