2025 How to Renew Your New Jersey Real Estate License

Renewing your New Jersey real estate license doesn’t have to be stressful. In fact, keeping your license active is easier than ever if you follow the right steps and get started early. Below is a concise guide to make sure you’re prepared for the June 30, 2025 renewal deadline.

Licensee Renewal Process

Step 1: Complete Your CE Requirements

If you hold a Salesperson, Broker-Salesperson, or Broker license, you must complete 12 hours of continuing education (CE) before renewal. Your CE provider will report your completions to PSI, so confirm that your hours have been successfully recorded. (Referral Agents do not need CE to renew.)

Step 2: Verify CE on PSI

Log in to your NJ PSI account to verify your CE hours are correctly reported. Print a copy of this record for your files—having documentation on hand can help avoid any confusion down the road.

Step 3: Complete the On-line Qualifying Questionnaire

Log in to the NJREC Online Services portal to fill out the Online Qualifying Questionnaire. Each licensee, even the Broker of Record, must complete this questionnaire. No paper forms will be accepted; until this is submitted, your license will not be renewed.

Step 4: Notify Your Broker

After completing your CE and questionnaire, let your Broker know you’re ready for renewal. Renewals are ultimately processed by the Broker of Record, so leave enough time for them to finalize the process before June 30, 2025.

Important: Depending on how you answer specific questions in the questionnaire, you may need to send supporting documents to the New Jersey Real Estate Commission. If you don't provide these documents when requested, the Commission may pursue legal or enforcement action against your license. For more detailed instructions, check the NJREC Qualifying Questionaire website.
