Approval Information

Empire Learning is approved by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (Sponsor Code #1532) to provide the above-listed courses for continuing education credit for North Carolina real estate licensees. Each course is individually approved and the specific course approval number will be listed on your completion certificate. Sponsor approval can be verified on the NCREC website here.

Courses provided by Empire Learning will satisfy the 4-hour Elective continuing education requirement for North Carolina licensees. The remaining 4 hours is required to be taken in a classroom setting. All completed credits are reported to the NCREC on a daily basis, Monday through Friday.

Please note that the NCREC requires courses to be completed within 30 days of enrollment.

1.	Can I take classes online? Yes. Elective courses can be completed online. However, state regulations require the commission-mandated General Update or Broker-In-Charge Update courses be completed in a classroom setting.
2.	Are there any limitations to how quickly I can complete my continuing education? The North Carolina Real Estate Commission requires a seat timer to ensure that courses cannot be completed in less time than the approved number of hours.
3.	What are the steps to renew my license? After completing the continuing education requirements, your license can be renewed online at https://www.ncrec.gov/
4.	What happens if I don't renew my license in time? A license expired less than 2 years can be reinstated. Please click here to view the state's reinstatement requirements.
