Who Needs to Renew their New Jersey Real Estate License?
New Jersey Salespersons, Salespersons Referral, and Brokers are required to renew their license every two years. The current license renewal date is June 30, 2025. Salesperson Referral licensees are not required to complete continuing education for license renewal.
What are the New Jersey Continuing Education (CE) Requirements?
For the 2025 license renewal cycle, licensees must complete 12 hours of continuing education. This must consist of at least 6 hours of Core topics, including 2 hours of Ethics, 1 hour of Agency, and 1 hour of Fair Housing & NJ Law Against Discrimination. The remaining 6 hours can be in any elective topic or mix of elective or Core courses. Core course topics include Ethics, Agency, Fair Housing, Disclosure, Legal Issues, Rules and Regulations, Licensee Safety, and Financial Literacy & Planning.

What is the Deadline for Completing the CE in New Jersey?
New Jersey continuing education must be completed by April 30, 2025 to avoid a late renewal fee. If you do not complete your continuing education by April 30, you are still able to renew your license by completing the required 12 hours by June 30 and paying a $200 late fee to NJREC.
How can I Complete My New Jersey CE?
Continuing education courses in New Jersey may be completed live in person in a classroom or webinar, or online. All providers and courses must be approved by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission.
